Love and Lust Many individuals misunderstand these two words: ‘love’ and ‘lust’. Sometimes, a person feels drawn towards the opposite sex and they think it is love or love at first sight. But when I try to link into the outward behaviors of such couples, it makes me conclude that it was not love at first sight. If we think well, how can there be love, when the two have not met, known or be in company for some length of time? Therefore, such kind of relationship does not last. There is another measurement of ‘love’. Love comes from the act of the will after some experience with the person of either sex on different facets of communal relationships, be it between friends - close or acquaintances, how a person deals or commune within family circles, whether he or she is caring type, listening, appreciating, amicable problem solver, etc. In human relationships, only true and pure love wins and lasts and is peaceful. Lust lasts but a short time and persons involve experience strife. PURE LOVE BETWEEN A MAN AND WOMAN means the love between them who are free to marry without any impediments and to be partners for life as husband and wife. Fruitful love: For love between couples to be fruitful should be only between a man and a woman. There can be real fruitful love also only when one man commits his life to one woman and vice versa. For God has made it so from the beginning of creation of humanity (Mt. 19:4). The condition for these couples to be married for life is that they should be free to do so and is carried out in the Church by Canon 1067 (Canon Law 1983). God does not make mistake in creating man as man and woman. He has his own purpose for creating humans as man or as woman. They are equal in dignity but functionally different. The Catechism of the Catholic Church 2363 says “The spouses' union achieves the twofold end of marriage: the good of the spouses themselves and the transmission of life. These two meanings or values of marriage cannot be separated without altering the couple's spiritual life and compromising the goods of marriage and the future of the family. The conjugal love of man and woman thus stands under the twofold obligation of fidelity and fecundity.” For created them “male and female” (cf. Gen 1:27) In conclusion, married people who have vowed as husband and wife and testified by the Church authorities and have decided to limit children or to mutilate their organs, sin gravely against this God-given economy of life for putting man on earth. If such trends continue unchecked there will come a time when humanity will be dominated by unknown beings. Let us thank God for his Greatness and Grace and Fully Trust in his Providence. Amen. 29th April 2025. Mr Marcel Myrthong.

Short refection on Psalm 89 In between the lines and verses of Psalm 89 we find that God is still faithful in saving and caring for each one of us and for the whole community even if we have gone astray. He will punish of course but He will never take away His love. This should give us the encouragement to sin no more and to never again hurt His love for us Dated: 28th April 2025.
